Install in five steps
- DownloadSave the ZIP and double-click it to unzip.
- Open extensionsIn Chrome, visit
chrome://extensions. - Enable Developer modeUse the switch in the upper-right corner.
- Load the appChoose Load unpacked and select the unzipped Reader folder.
- Start readingPin the Reader, open a normal webpage and choose Read page.
Neural mode
Neural mode is optional. It sends the readable sentence to OpenAI for speech generation and requires your own OpenAI API key and API billing.
Before using it at work
Use Local mode for sensitive material. Ask your employer before installing an unpacked extension or sending workplace content to an external AI service.
Compatibility and notes
This release is for desktop Chrome and Chromium-based browsers. It does not run on iPhone. Chrome blocks extensions on internal pages and the Chrome Web Store. Some managed workplace browsers may also block unpacked extensions.
The download contains no API key, account credentials or usage data. Neural audio may be cached locally until you select Clear audio cache or remove the extension.
